Conserving & Using Crop Diversity

The foundation of

Our food and nutrition security

Unprecedented challenges are making it harder for farmers to feed their families, and ours.

These challenges – drought and heat, new pests and diseases, soil depletion and desertification – can be overcome using crop diversity.

The Crop Trust’s Biodiversity for Opportunities, Livelihoods and Development (BOLD) Project supports scientists and farmers who are turning to old crop varieties and their wild cousins.

Their goal is to develop more resilient alfalfa, barley, durum wheat, finger millet, grasspea, potato and rice.

We’ve created this website for you to explore how the Crop Trust and its BOLD partners across the globe are Using Crop Diversity To Ensure Food and Nutritional Security for present and future generations.
